My First Reading Library中文译名为“我的第一个图书馆”，由英国著名的儿童少年阅读教育专家Alison Kelly女士监制并起草大纲而出品，以Synthetic Phonics (综合自然发音教学法，又称原音拼合法)为设计原则, 巧妙地结合字母与发音，创造出充满想像力的押韵的文字故事。本系列已经发展成很多英文国家儿童少年必选书目之一，被誉为英语学习的“圣经”。

起始22本图书属于Usborne Very First Reading级别，透过家长的陪伴和指导，适合作为开发小朋友阅读兴趣的系列。

其后12册图书均来自Usborne First Reading的Level 1，内含有趣的短篇故事，适合小朋友尝试独自阅读。

最后16册图书来自Usborne First Reading的Level 2，故事的内容比较长篇，适合培养小朋友的专注力和独立性。

My First Reading Library的优势：

①整套书巧妙地结合字母与发音，创造出充满想像力的押韵的文字故事。

②符合孩子在低龄阶段的心理状态。Usborne出版社聘请最富经验的儿童教育专家做长期顾问。例如在First Reading Level 1阶段，作为最初阅读的书目，设计者们明显注意到这个年龄段的孩子接收反应的能力不强，所以创作出的作品单句简短，词汇也是生活中随处可见的，并且细心的把每句话都设置在十个单词以内。

③这是一套真正将“亲子共读”这一因素考虑并且设计到内容上的书。家长与孩子轮流念，家长念左边的部分，孩子念右边的部分。依照书籍的编序开始，循序渐进，随着阅读书目的增加，孩子要念的部分字句也会慢慢加长。此时家长要注意，一本书到下一本书之间，给孩子足够的时间吸收与进步，反覆看同一本书不但可以增加孩子的自信心，也可以加强流畅度。

④故事的主题非常多元化，有许多有趣又耳熟能详的经典故事，其中还有不少来自中国、中亚、东非、南极等世界各地的美丽传说。书中插图也非常精致可爱。

⑤每本书的最后都有几个跟故事内容有关的小游戏。可以根据这些问题，跟孩子一起聊聊这个故事内容。
